A Season for the Earth is excited to announce a new partnership with the Low Carbon Diet Initiative and its “Cool America Campaign.” The program centers around the Low Carbon Diet workbook—a fun, illustrated CO2-reduction handbook that guides you through a series of 22 action steps to trim your carbon footprint and help others do the same.
The Northwest Earth Institute is recognized as a national leader in the development of innovative programs that empower individuals and organizations to protect ecological systems.  Today, NWEI offers seven study guides for small groups. These self-guided discussion courses are offered in workplaces, homes, faith centers, neighborhoods, and community centers throughout North America

In April of 2007, The Association of Global New Thought celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Gandhi King Season for Nonviolence with a unique gathering of living legends of nonviolence and motivated participants aboard the Peace Train.  As the train carried the group up the California coast, a clear dialogue emerged: What was the natural evolution of the last decade of our work?  What did it truly mean to manifest a Culture of Peace and Nonviolence?

It soon became clear that in order to develop a legitimate and sustainable new cultural norm, we must first “unpack” the overarching concept and of peace and nonviolence and take a deep practical look at the critical issues that lodge there. Left unresolved, these are wounds that will continue to breed the inequities, injustices, resentments, and intractable conflicts that thrive in the world we have created.

Standing in the stark clarity of this realization, AGNT committed to expanding the Gandhi King Chavez Season for Nonviolence to become perennial Seasons for Peace and Nonviolence (SPAN) in which unwavering nonviolence in thought, word and action becomes our chosen way of life.

By consensus, the leaders and participants aboard the Peace Train agreed that SPAN would begin by addressing four pivotal areas of concern, with the understanding that continuing growth and evolution will be reflected in future topics:

•    Nonviolence awareness and education (Season for Nonviolence)
•    The environment (Season for the Earth)
•    Interfaith understanding (Season for Interfaith Celebration)
•    Human need and suffering (Season for Human Service)

As we complete the highly successful eleventh annual Gandhi King Chavez Season for Nonviolence, we invite you to continue the work…

Season for the Earth, spanning the months of April, May, and June, is devoted to focusing our consciousness-in-action so we are better able to heal, nurture and transform the environment--an undertaking now vital beyond description. After extensive research, AGNT has partnered with some of the top environmental awareness organizations that we truly believe also hold the vision of spiritually-motivated activism.

We are delighted and honored to bring you the tools you need to join or lead a campaign for this Season.

Below, you will find a directory of revolutionary community programs, online resources, films, books, and environmental organizations.  Use these resources to help create your own vision and strategy for earth-healing.  As always, AGNT will support you in every way we can.
