Subject: Invitation to Season for Nonviolence (City): A Community Based Effort
Dear ––––––––––––––––:
I am writing to invite you and other community leaders to a brief gathering to explore the idea of forming a collaborative, community-based effort that would promote activities during the upcoming Season for Nonviolence. This exploratory gathering is scheduled for _______________, located at ____________________________________________.
As you may know, the Season for Nonviolence is an international grassroots celebration of nonviolence sponsored by the Association of Global New Thought. It spans from January 30 to April 4 – the 64 days between the memorials of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. During this time, individuals, groups and organizations from all over the world hold events and activities to demonstrate that nonviolence is a powerful way to heal, transform, and empower our lives and our communities.
We believe that the 2014 Season for Nonviolence offers a wonderful opportunity to establish a collaborative effort to promote nonviolence in (YOUR CITY) and the surrounding communities. Please allow me to explain.
