The Gandhi King Chavez Season for Nonviolence is a grassroots campaign growing out of the passion and creative expression of many spiritual and civic-minded individuals and communities. Our vision is to promote a proactive, life enhancing awareness of nonviolent activism as demonstrated by Mahatma Gandhi Dr. Martin Luther King. Jr, and Cesar E. Chavez. A Season for Nonviolence will be celebrated once again at the United Nations in March of 2009.
If you are leading a local task force and have not already signed in for 2009, please go to our website (www.agnt.org click on Season for Nonviolence) and officially "sign in" with your complete contact info and (if applicable) the names of your team members so that we can keep you updated and informed with the latest developments and resources. Click to submit form: http://www.agnt.org/snv03Start.htm OR Email to: SPAN@agnt.org
If you are not already engaged and want to be, the first thing to do is to find out if there is already task force activity in your area. In order to do this, you can go to www.agnt.org, click on Season for Peace and Nonviolence, and scroll down to "Join a local Task Force" and click. That will provide a list of all our Task Force Leaders for 2008 which will incrementally be updated for the current year, 2009.
If there is no contact listed near your location and you would like to connect with other interested individuals in your area, please reply to snv@agnt.org with your complete contact information and a range of zip codes and/or city/town names in your area; we will then send you a list of contacts in your area.
