One day each week, throughout the Season for Nonviolence, we will we will choose one "Act of Kindness" story from the StoryBank to feature on our website and share with our community. This story will be circulated through our email list to anyone who wishes to receive it. It will also be sent to churches and centers around the country to be read during the weekly service.

In return, we ask for YOUR commitment to:

-Read a "special moment" story each week to your congregation or other regularly meeting group of people. See exampes of Kindness Stories

-Distribute Smile Cards, Kindness Ideas and information about the Gift Economy.

-Encourage members of your congregation to participate in creating and sharing stories of their own experiences related to acts of kindness, generosity, and service. Instructions on how to submit stories to AGNT are listed here.

Participating in this program will benefit members of your congregation in the following ways:

• By giving people the opportunity to share their experiences with a larger audience within the community.
• Hearing stories from members of our own community reinforces how simple it is to incorporate acts of kindness into our daily lives.
• Your church or center will gain more visibility by being listed in our Story Church directory.


OPTION 1: If you are the leader of a church or other regularly meeting group:

Each Tuesday throughout the Season for Nonviolence, starting Jan. 27th, we will email you the featured story of the week for you to share with your congregation. Each inspirational story will be chosen directly from the community "StoryBank", and will be readable in 5 minutes or less.

At that same time, we will provide you with a short description of the Acts of Kindness program that can be read before, or following the story, itself. This "script" will help you explain how to participate in Acts of Kindness and contribute to the StoryBank.

"Story Church" Directory on the AGNT Website

Once we receive your information, we will add it to the Story Church directory on the SNV website. Using this directory, people will be able to locate a church in their area that is actively participating in the program, including yours!

We will also send out emails to our mailing list every few weeks during the season, giving the names of all participating churches and centers.
