"The Spirit of Peace Building"

Teleseries Structure: Comprehensive Programming

Presentation and Discussion

This program series is comprehensive. Each weekly MONDAY call will feature:

A) An hour-long thematic dialogue with a member of the Peace Council, on a specialized theme central to that individual's work and experience.

B) A thirty minute roundtable discussion with expert panelists selected by the conveners of the series. These might include Trustees of the Peace Council, leaders of AGNT and the New Thought Movement, Season for Nonviolence task force leaders, representatives of the Interreligious Engagement Project, or others engaged in the ongoing work of our collaborating organizations. These discussions will focus on the preceding conversation with the Peace Councilor and its implications for work at the local level in the communities represented by registered participants.

Breakout Sessions

Both sections (A and B) will be punctuated with smaller facilitated breakout sessions so that all participants on the calls have ample time to share their experience, ask questions, and collaborate.

Interactive Intensives & Task Force Check-ins

Every other THURSDAY, a total of four times during the Season, separate “intensives” will be held by teleconference. Smaller groups will have the opportunity to work on strategic local and global peace-building initiatives together, informed by insights in various areas of social concern that are shared by Peace Councilors during the Monday calls. This dimension of the project is a fulfillment of AGNT’s vision to connect world spiritual leadership and omni-local citizen spiritual activists in a direct and meaningful way.

These Intensives will include interactive check-ins, with SNV Task Force Leaders encouraged to call in and share updates on activities with their peer leaders in other SNV cities. They will also provide the opportunity to share news about breakthroughs, or to seek guidance with regard to challenges participants might be encountering. Everyone will be asked to give input and then we will break out into sessions organized by common interest. You’ll meet with those whose programs are very similar to your own and take collaboration and resource sharing to the next level. Finally, report-outs from each breakout group will conclude the check-in. These working sessions will be some of the most active and productive time you spend this Season.

Proposed End of Season Retreat!

We will be sending out a survey to see how many would be interested in attending a three day retreat at Old Mission in Santa Barbara, CA for task force leaders and representatives. Participants will meet in dialogue and working sessions face-to-face with AGNT Leaders, Jim Kenney, and some representatives of the Peace Council, as well as with your peers in other SNV cities from around the USA and other countries. This retreat event would include inexpensive lodging and healthy meals, as well as a concert event and other surprises for Season work and community-building with like-minded others.
