Thank you for your interest in The Center for the Advancement of Nonviolence SM (The Center). We, at The Center, are dedicated to building a culture of nonviolence through education, research, advocacy and institutional transformation. We believe that nonviolence is a way of life for the individual, a strategy for social movement and a foundation for a culture of peace.
The Center employs the nonviolence philosophies and principles of Mahatma Gandhi ,Martin Luther King Jr., and Cesar E. Chavez as the foundation for its classroom curriculum, educational tools, workshops, and special programs and events.
We strongly believe our approach, methodology and technology will be a prototype for establishing mirrored projects in communities throughout the United States, and around the world. We, at The Center, believe that within our communities, there already exists a powerful foundation for a culture of peace. This culture will expand and grow if nurtured through the action of committed community-based organizations.
We feel it is crucial to identify and unite this emerging culture through nonviolence education and programs. The Center has a strong history of collaborating locally and nationally. We know we can work together and make the change we desire.
